Get ready for the ride of a lifetime on our zipline at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort.

Well, it’s almost time. Are you ready to fly like a bird while absorbing views of the gorgeous Columbia Valley? You're in luck—Mineral Mountain Ziplines is open from May to October for your adventure needs!

Our staff is busy getting everything ready to give you the zipline experience of a lifetime in the Rockies. For those who have never been on a zipline before, there are a few thing to know before you saddle, er, harness up for the ride of a lifetime.

1. Prepare for the weather

Weather in the Rockies can be notoriously fickle. While the temperature gauge may say its 25 degrees Celcius at the Fairmont Hot Springs Airport, you will gain more than 1,000 feet in elevation to where our zipline course is located. Temperatures in the mountains can sometimes be up to 10 degrees cooler. And at other times, it can feel even hotter when fully exposed to the sun. Sudden storms and rain are also not uncommon.

2. Clothes make the zipline

Wearing the right clothing is essential to the enjoyment of your zipline experience. Donning those Daisy Dukes and short-shorts is not recommended, as you will be strapped into a harness. You also want to avoid flying objects being released from your dangling feet and be able to walk comfortably to our zipline launch stations. That means you should wear closed-toe, secure shoes! You’ll also be wearing a helmet, so a hat is not required (but you may want to bring one for before or after you zip).

Dress for success by bringing:

  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses that can be tied around your neck
  • A light rain jacket or shell
  • Long-sleeve shirt and T-shirt
  • Long pants (capris are OK) or Bermuda-style shorts (cut-offs are OK as long as they are mid-thigh to knee)
  • Secure, closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops)

3. Give yourself time to get there

No matter where you are coming from, whether it’s steps away from Fairmont Hot Springs Resort or from nearby communities of Cranbrook, Invermere or Radium Hot Springs or even further, make sure you give yourself plenty of time before your scheduled slot at Mineral Mountain Ziplines. You’ll need at least 15-30 minutes (depending on your group size) when you arrive for your guides to provide you with an orientation of the course and suit you up with a harness and helmet for your tour!
